Managing Workplace Stress
Stress is an increasingly significant factor within a wide range of public and private sector organisations. Stress in the workplace can affect the mental and physical health of employees and is costing UK business millions of pounds in absence and reduced performance.
To assist both employers and employees to identify stress in the workplace and to tackle it at its source Learning Industries have developed an e-learning module on Managing Workplace Stress. The module will also help employers to meet their legal duties by providing appropriate information to their staff and by training managers in the use of the Health & Safety Executive's Stress Management Standards.
The module covers the following topics:
- Awareness of Stress and its Effects
- Causes and Symptoms of Stress
- Dealing with Workplace Stress
- Stress Management Standards and Risk Assessment.
The e-learning package has been designed to provide core knowledge on each of the above topics and can be customised to the precise requirements of any organisation or sector.
Pontypridd and Rhondda NHS Trust have commissioned a version of the module. The package is being customised to incorporate their local policies and to reflect the requirements of a large health sector employer. Specific case studies are being used to reflect the culture and environment of the Trust and to ensure that the training is portrayed in a manner relevant to their staff.
The Managing Workplace Stress e-Learning Package is an entirely web-based e-learning solution, enabling training to be delivered to users over a wide variety of network and IT infrastructures. The package can be supplied with Learning Industries' e-Learning Administration System, enabling managers to monitor learner progress and organisations to record access to the training and the attainment of its employees.
