e-Learning for the Health Sector

Training Under Pressure

Training Under PressureWith an increasing demand for learning and development, an increase in statutory training requirements and the ever present need to keep pace with medical developments and new technologies, training resources within the health care sector are under enormous pressure.

Learning Industries has been working with NHS Trusts, Health Boards and Social Services to look at how e-learning can be used to provide solutions to some of the problems currently challenging HR and training departments.

Flexible Solutions

e-Learning provides an opportunity to address specific issues; such as the need to reach large staff cohorts or to provide training for short-term, shift-working or community-based staff.

The flexibility of e-learning enables users to access training in a manner that fits around their duties and workload. Training is available 24/7 and can be accessed piecemeal or used for refresher purposes, as and when required.

E-learning provides a consistent message to all trainees.

Wide Application

  • Corporate and Clinical Induction
  • Statutory Training
  • New Legislation and Regulations
  • Policies and Procedures
  • Specialist Clinical Care

'This is a significant step forward in delivering safe, high quality services to our patients.'

Helen Thomas, North Glamorgan NHS Trust

'e-Learning has the potential to deliver training to many thousands of staff involved in the care, support and protection of vulnerable adults across South Wales.'

Dave Thomas, SWAP Forum Secretary
