South Yorkshire Drug Record e-Learning

Following on from the success of the All Wales In Patient Medication Administration Record e-Learning package, which won the UKCPA / Pfizer Patient Safety Award 2005, Learning Industries are now working with a consortium of NHS Trusts from across South Yorkshire to develop an e-learning package to support the launch and rollout of their new standardised drug chart. The project is being led by the pharmacy department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and includes:

  • Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust
  • Sheffield University

The existing Prescription and Administration e-Learning package is being customised to reflect the new South Yorkshire Drug Prescription and Administration Record and to synchronise with local medicine codes and prescribing standards.

The package will be incorporated into both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical training as an element of the pharmacy education programme, and as part of the Trust's clinical induction programme. In addition there will be a requirement for existing clinical staff to undertake the training.
