Major Incident Planning e-Learning

Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust have commissioned Learning Industries to design and produce an e-learning package on Major Incident (Emergency) Planning for delivery to staff within the Trust.
The package will fulfil a multi-level training requirement; providing information for the majority of the Trust’s staff that require an awareness of the potential and procedures for handling emergencies and major incidents; as well as more detailed guidance for staff that may have to operate under, or undertake specific duties within a major incident plan.
The Major Incident Planning e-Learning package is being designed and developed in collaboration with Gwent’s Emergency Planning & Civil Contingencies Manager and the Trust’s partner agencies, including the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The module will cover, planning for emergencies; legislation, national and local support structures, types of major incident and emergency; roles and responsibilities within the Trust; response functions; specific emergency care requirements; dealing with contamination incidents; post-incident recovery and follow up; and the role of partner agencies.
The e-learning package will be implemented within the Trust, within an existing implementation of the Learning Industries e-Learning Administration System; enabling the delivery of the training to be tracked, filtered and reported for management purposes; and individual user progress and attainment results to be recorded and certified for review and personal development.
