Safeguarding children is the protection of children from abuse and neglect. All staff working within healthcare environments have a duty to protect children the children that they come into contact with and to ensure that they are safeguarded from harm.

The Safeguarding Children Level 1 e-Learning module provides an introduction to child protection and abuse. The e-learning module introduces the legislation, principles and procedures for working with children and families; explains the different types of abuse that can occur; provides examples of the possible indicators or each type of abuse and highlights the responsibility of staff in disclosing and referring cases of abuse and neglect.

The package can be used with the Learning Industries e-Learning Administration System to provide learner management, user tracking and recorded assessment or can be packaged for delivery in third-party SCORM-compliant Learning Management Systems.
