Rapid Tranquillisation e-Learning
The Rapid Tranquillisation e-Learning package will provide specific training in the administration, medication, monitoring, and the risks and side effects of rapid tranquillisation. The package will describe the requirements, responsibilities and appropriate procedures for administering medication for the control of violent and aggressive behaviour; highlighting good practice and illustrating the potential consequences of errors and mismanagement.
Learning Industries are working with clinical and pharmacy staff from the 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust to develop the e-learning course, which will be delivered to all staff that prescribe or are involved in the administration or monitoring of rapid tranquillisation. Additional customised versions are currently being developed for Devon NHS Trust and Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust.
