e-Learning for Safe Handling and Use of Controlled Drugs
5 Borough Partnership Trust have commissioned a Controlled Drugs e-learning package: designed to promote the safe, secure and effective management of controlled drugs in a mental health setting.
The package introduces the risks and importance of accountability for controlled drugs; describes standard operating procedures and illustrates best practice in the handling and use of controlled drugs, including the legislative changes resulting from the Shipman Inquiry.
Specific areas that the module will cover, include: ordering and receipt of drugs, Storage and Key Holding, Prescribing, Administration, Stock Keeping and Patient's Own Drugs.
