Dispensing for Discharge e-Learning
Dispensing for Discharge has a number of benefits for both the NHS and the patient. Learning Industries have been commissioned to develop an e-learning package on Dispensing Drugs for Discharge in close connection with Sheffield Teaching NHS Foundation.
The package will be suited for induction level delivery, staff dealing with patients and staff at management level. The module will cover areas such as the requirements, procedures and checks for using patient's own drugs (PODs). It will cover appropriate procedures wwhcih should be adopted during admission and for dispensing individual medication supplies during an in-patient stay.
The package will cover a range of key topics including:
- The Benefits of Dispensing for Discharge to both the individual and the NHS
- Checking Medications on Admission
- Managing Medicines during In Patient Stays
- Dispensing for Discharge Processes
- Competency for Discharge Checks Assessment
After successfully completing the assessment users will be able to print out a certificate as evidence of having passed.
