Wider Roll-Out of Domestic Abuse e-Learning

The Domestic Abuse e-Learning package, originally developed by Learning Industries in collaboration with Cardiff County Council’s Housing Department and their partner agencies, is now being rolled out within Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil authority areas.
The e-learning package provides an awareness of domestic violence; its triggers, cycles and the signs and indicators of abuse. The module provides detailed guidance for housing, health and social care staff on the procedures for alerting and reporting incidents of domestic abuse and details the support services available to people suffering domestic violence.
The original package has been in use within Cardiff County Council and with their partner organisations, including; Cardiff Women’s Aid, BAWSO and housing associations such as Cadwyn and Taff Housing Association for several months. The success of the package has led to the package being adopted by Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil housing departments.
The package is being adapted, in collaboration with leads from Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council housing departments, to reflect new joint procedures, currently being implemented for housing association staff in both authorities.
