Self Administration of Medicines e-Learning
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has commissioned an extension to their existing Dispensing for Discharge e-Learning package to cover the Self Administration of Medicines.
Self-administration enables patients to maintain, or gain, responsibility for administering their medicines in a controlled environment, with different levels of nurse supervision.The e-learning package will support the roll out of new policies and procedures to support the safe administration of medicines by independent acute patients, chronic illness patients and patients in rehabilitation.
The training will cover the requirements, patient assessment, review, supervision, storage and documentation procedures required to safely manage the safe administration of medicines within an in-patient setting.
