Domestic and Sexual Violence e-Learning
Domestic abuse is a major issue both nationally and locally. The impact of domestic abuse can be experienced at many levels ranging from Health, Education and Housing. It is one of the main reasons for homelessness.
Supporting agencies, such as domestic and sexual violence and abuse service providers, charities, voluntary groups, housing associations and the Local Authority operating in Cardiff promote a zero tolerance approach to domestic abuse and recognise that a clear and effective response can contribute to safeguarding, crime reduction and the prevention of homelessness.
Learning Industries are working with Domestic and Sexual Abuse coordinators in Cardiff to develop a version of their Domestic Abuse e-Learning package aimed at voluntary and charitable organisations who may encounter people who have been affected by domestic abuse.
The e-learning package is intended to raise awareness of domestic abuse: helping staff to recognise instances of abuse, understand the types of abuse which may occur and understand how to support victims of domestic abuse. The package also aims to raise awareness about the range of expert organisations that exist in Cardiff to support people who have experienced/ or who are experiencing domestic abuse.
