Safeguarding Children e-Learning
Working with the Safeguarding Children Team from 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Learning Industries are developing Level 2 and Level 3 Safeguarding Children e-Learning packages
Combined with their existing Level 1 package, the project will enable 5 Boroughs to roll out Safeguarding Children training to all of their mental health and community staff.
Under the Children Act 2004, healthcare providers have a duty to ensure that their functions are discharged with regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. In practice this means that Mental Health Trusts must not only consider the needs of children directly under their care, but must also consider the needs of children under the care of their adult service users.
The Trust also has a duty to communicate and cooperate with other agencies in order safeguard children from abuse or neglect, prevent impairment of their health and development and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.
The Safeguarding Children e-Learning packages will ensure that every member of staff is aware of their responsibility to children and that they recognise the need to act to safeguard children from harm, abuse or neglect.
